This event is a pool-based Aquathlon – in other words a swim followed by a run. The 500m (or 20 length) swim takes place in the world-class facilities of the Cardiff International Pool, while the run is a 5.8km loop, mainly near the waterside of Cardiff Bay.
This event is geared as an introduction to Aquathlon and the majority of entrants are fairly new to the sport. Our focus is on providing a relaxed, low-stress introduction – and it’s more about ‘completion’ than ‘competition’. We still welcome those who really come to ‘race’, but ask them to note that timing for this event is manual (i.e. not chip-timed) and that we do not have a podium or prizes for the top finishers.
(Please note that a £5 day licence will be required for all competitors who are not members of British Triathlon. This day licence can be bought from race registration on the day).
Maximum number of competitors: 150
