WEDNESDAY NIGHT RUNNING AT LECKWITH - 6.30PM
Contributed by patrick lees
Sunday, 11 April 2010
This week's session will be back 800s again.

Last time the faster people did 8 x 800m with 1min30secs rest.
I think everyone else did 6 x 800 (please correct me if i'm wrong)

As always, 4 lap, 1mile warm up followed by some drills and onto main set:

So as a progression and to build some speed endurance the plan is to add a repetition to the session (so it'll be an extra 1/2 mile of speed, just like the progression of an extra 2 x400m that we did a fortnight ago, if you're not feeling frisky or haven't been before then see what you can manage)

At the moment stick to the same recovery of 1min30secs (and 2 mins in the middle of the session to keep the quality going)

It should be done at faster than 5k race pace!

My DIY related knee injury doesn't seem to mind swimming or cycling (as long as i'm sitting down) but after trying a little run on friday night i was hobbling. So i won't be running for another week.  However, Coach Deans (Chairman Andy or 'Dino') will be there to remind you all what you are supposed to be doing, and Jess will be there to provide demonstration of the bounding drills!

Enjoy!

Sorry it's a bit late, only just got back ...I'll be going out tomorrow 50m miles or so, route to be determined, probably towards Newport as there is an Easterly wind forecast. Have not followed the other threads, so not sure who is going over to Blaenaveon ...I can't make it.
