The post about the winter league got me thinking about a summer club championship series.
It could be a challenge which would find out who the best and most consistent multisport athlete is across several different distances, and types of event (aquathlon, duathlon, sprint tri, olympic tri, middle distance tri, offroad tri). The winner would naturally be showered in glory at the awards dinner/christmas do!
It'd be wrong to accept credit for this idea, as its exactly what the Welsh Grand Prix Series already does.
The Welsh Grand Prix Series could be used and all the adding up and workings out would be done for us?????
They award points of 1000 for 1st place, then they are awarded based on the percentage within the winners time, i.e. winner's time 60 mins, next competitor's time 66 mins which is 10% slower - Winner awarded 1000 points and next competitor is awarded 10% less points which is 900. Why they don't use 100 points for first place is a mystery! Sounds more impressive I guess!
Or....it'd be a little more work but we could choose our own events that are popular with the club and work it out ourselves for the events that aren't part of the Welsh Grand Prix Series?
The Welsh Grand Prix Series uses 7 events, with the best 4 results to count.
Can you please comment yes (great idea) / no (pants idea) below and also suggest races that are popular ...or that you did and thought were good.

Each year the club organises a series of events which form
our Winter League competition. The purpose of this is to get Club members
competing against each other during the bleak winter months, until the
triathlon season starts again.

A big thank you to all who helped out at yesterdays race. Really appreciated - particularly Gwen who juggled managing Excel spreadsheets and a baby brilliantly!
Will post up final amount raised when all counted up and sponsorship monies have come in.
Thanks again to our supporters for their generosity:
