Cardiff Triathletes was formed in 1984 by a small group of people interested in the, then, new sport of triathlon.
The objectives of the club are to encourage and promote the sport of triathlon in the Cardiff and the surrounding area.
The club is affiliated to the British Triathlon Federation via Welsh Triathlon and individual members are encouraged to join these organisations.
Please see below for the final overall results table. Once again thank you to everyone who showed support for the winter league this year, taking part in what was sometimes very cold and tough conditions. The enthusiasm and motivation of all involved has made it all worth it this year. People seemed to enjoy the healthy competition with fellow club members and kept things interesting with lots of banter. Hope to see lots more of you joining in next year.
Jon Airey has taken the club winter league championships cup for 2013 and very deservedly. We waited with baited breath this morning after, naturally, he left Fairwater pool first...like a greyhound's rabbit! Dan Miles, Matt and Stuart were all in hot pursuit to chase him down. Jon showed true grit and battled to stay ahead and emerged first across the line. Not bad for 8am on a Sunday morning.
Miles Brown took the win for the age consideration category proving that his is still indeed I think his words... 'the fastest fossil' only joking Miles, a strong all round athlete who also came second in the overall standings. There's a lot to be said for experience.
Once again, well done to Bev who held on to her title of Winter League Champion from 2012 despite battling through the last event with an injury. Another strong athlete! Ladies we'd like to see more challengers next year.
thanks all, hope you enjoyed! :)
