What's it all about
400m pool swim. 5km run, Series starts January 2013
Well, it’s one of the best ways to open your race season. This ever popular 4 event aquathlon series is designed to be informal but fast fun and from the outset four years ago, has been ever popular with athletes coming from well outside the local area in addition to our regular locals. We get positive comments every year and pride ourselves on a friendly and easy going approach.
With 2012 prices held for 2013 with the offer of free coffee and cake for all entrants, it’s a race series set to put a smile on your face, blow away some of the winter cobwebs, and not dent your pocket in the process.
There will be prizes on the day and an award for the series winner, so we hope you’ll enter as many dates as you can and join TTC for some cracking racing.
The race format is simple. First you have a 400m pool swim - matched with others of your own speed and ability. However, once out of the water, then it’s on with your racing shoes for a flat closed circuit run course around the school grounds (there may well be mud !).
The finish line is close to the school and when the race is done, you are welcome to grab a drink and cake on us to put back in all the calories you’ve just burned off !
You’ll be most welcome.
Each race is priced at just £10
Ashchurch Road, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, GL20 8DF
First swimmer off at 12:00
About the Race
Running from Tewkesbury Secondary School, the event will help to keep motivation high with something to aim for prior to the coming season. There are 4 events on offer with 3 required to qualify for the overall series. The events will consist of a 400 metre pool swim and then a 3 lap 5 kilometre run which will be well signed and marshalled. The run, aside from the first and last 100 metres is all on the school's grass playing fields.
The school is located just next to Junction 9 of the M5. By looking at the aerial photograph you will be able to see the School's playing fields.
